Ok things are doing good we went to the PSAS meeting last weekend it was a North Sound Tank Tour and pretty fun. I have gotten lots of stuff since my last update Zoa’s, Mushrooms, and SPS and maybe one of these days I will get more pics up grrr I am really not liking my standard kit lens for my Canon Rebel XTi. It sucks big time and I wish I still had my Canon G6 to take pics with but maybe one of these days I will get a decent lens. But here is the link to the PSAS pics from the tank tour and yes there is a pic of Gary and I here’s the link PSAS North Sound Tank Tour Pics Well that’s it for now I am feeling under the weather yeah I am sick :( TTYL’s!

Yup I posted on Reef Frontier’s the other day 2 Koralia 4’s for $60 and I mean in a matter of 30 minutes they were sold. Now Hubby and I have to meet up with the buyer Myteemouse this weekend either up here or down south if we go down there this weekend to look at some frags. Hopefully this weekend (Saturday) I will have some new frags for the tank, I soooooo excited more color :) I might also go by Barrier Reef’s they have some Leopard Wrasses in that I want to check out and gotta check out the corals. Everything is doing good in all the tanks yesterday I was doing some Aiptasia killing with some Joe’s Juice I think I got all the little buggers will have to double check today to make sure. Well that’s it for now TTYL’s

Ok the other day my cat was playing over by the 10 Gallon Freshwater tank (she likes to try to get the fish thru the glass). Well the next day in the morning I go to feed and my little buddy is no where to be found. I searched and searched and nothing he’s gone. I have a feeling my cat got adventurous and stuck her paw in and yup snatched and ate my little betta. Grrrrr…… cats!!!

Well nothing really much to update about corals doing good I did end up moving the Acropora Millepora and like the new spot I also moved the Unidentified Monti Cap over to where the Millepora was and like that there better too. We did stop by Blue Sierra and what do you know they had our Koralia Mag 7 in :) So now I will be putting the 2 Koralia 4’s up for sale for probably $60 for both together. The Potter’s Angel never came in the supplier was out but hopefully in the next couple weeks one will be available :) Well that’s about it next weekend we will probably be taking a trip down to the south sound to check out some frags so that should be cool really looking forward to it. Well that’s it TTYLS’s!!!

Well our Potter’s Angel is still not in yet hopefully today :) I really hope it does come in I cannot wait and we are really getting it for my oldest daughter who really liked this fish and wanted one. Yesterday I (Nicole) went on a fragging craze with the Green Birdsnest lol. The colony we had, had some not looking so hot spots and I was tired of looking at them so……. I fragged the whole colony up lol. I got all the bad off kept the good pieces and I tried to keep nice large pieces intact as much as possible. I also gave the freshly cut pieces a nice bath in some coral dip to make sure it stays clean and healthy. I ended up finding a rock down at the bottom of the tank and used that to glue some of the larger pieces on which worked out pretty good and then some of the smaller pieces I scatter glued thru out the tank. I am pretty happy with it and getting the bad pieces off looks and feels alot better cuz now I don’t have to worry about it spreading to the good pieces. I don’t think I am happy with the spot I had glued the Acropora Millepora it just doesn’t have the contrast I thought it would against the rock so……. I will probably move it to a new spot where I think it will pop more and stand out. My little baby Anenome is really taking off here are pics to compare

Ok so I did what I said I would do I added pics up under photos so check them out and here is a pic of our newest coral acropora millepora

Well today we went by Barrier Reef’s and I found a nice new coral frag and had to have it lol it is a Acropora millepora and the colors are close to that of a rose one. It’s pinkish/peachy colored with blue tips and I really like it, I will have to take some pics probably tomorrow but I will post some. We also went by Blue Sierra they were supposed to have a shipment in today but it turned out it will be in tomorrow but we will be picking up a Potter’s Dwarf Angel and I cannot wait :) Well that’s it for now TTYL’s Bye Bye.

Well the PSAS meeting we went to today was good. It was on skimmer modding and even though we didn’t need to mod our skimmers in was fun chatting with people and….. we were able to get two free frags :) We got a pocillopoa damicornis from Trido (Duane) and then someone else was giving away some Red Monti Caps which both are pretty amazing looking :) After the meeting we stopped by Blue Sierra and picked up a Korialia Mag 7 powerhead so that we can set up powerheads oscilating (wave effect) in our tank. Everything seems to like it so far and I think the Chromis are really enjoying it they have been in the front of the tank since we started it. We set the pumps to switch every 15 minutes. Now I know I said I would get pics up I ran out of time yesterday and right now I am so sleepy but tomorrow I promise and maybe I will even post pics of my new corals I got today :)

Well TGIF!!!!! Yup it’s Friday this week went by fast but things are doing really good now in the 90 gallon.  No signs of Ich anymore and the fish I said before are still all surviving still and seem to be back to their old selves.  We originally had the 37 gallon a freshwater tank and actually had taken down the 10 gallon but with the outbreak of Ich in our 90 gallon we decided to switch the 37 gallon over to saltwater fish only so that if we had another break out we could take the fish out of the 90 and put them in the 37 and be able to treat them without having to worry about harming the rest of the 90 gallon tank.  So last weekend we did the switch.  We set the 10 gallon back up transfered all the freshwater fish over to it and switched everything in the 37 to saltwater.  We picked up a Reef Octopus Skimmer down at Blue Sierra and the switchover was complete.  We have added some fish to the 37 gallon and right now there is one rock in there, some black sand but we plan on getting just some base rock building a tall like pillar with it and getting some of the realistic fake anenomes and coral decorations to put in.  We cannot put real corals and anenomes because if we have to treat the fish it would kill them, we are keeping this tank strictly fish only.  Also when we do get anymore fish for the 90 gallon they will spend their first 4-6 weeks in the 37 gallon to make sure they are disease free.  I did take some pics yesterday and today of the tanks but I am on my laptop actually right now and the pics are on our main PC so….. I will have to post them later.  Hubby last week ran a CAT 5 line for the Aqua Controller we were going to go wireless with it because of it’s location it is no where near the modem and wireless router.  We just thought it was a waste of money to try to go wireless with it.  A wireless bridge costs $70 and for way cheaper we could run a line so…. hubby did.  Now my Aqua Controller is all hooked up to the webserver and software and I so happy :)   Thank you Silly:)  Tomorrow we have a meeting for the PSAS which should be a good one.  It’s all about modding your skimmer.  We really have no need to mood our skimmers ours are way more then we actually need for our tanks but I want to see how it’s done.  They are also having a give away of a really cool skimmer that the club bought I wouldn’t mind getting it if we ever go to a sump(they are giving away a sump skimmer).  They are also having a door raffle and those are always good :)   Well that’s it for now I will hopefully remember to post some pics later on I got some cool ones of the Blenny in it’s favorite hangout, our baby anenome, green birdsnest, green mushrooms and our new puffer in the 37 gallon.

Sorry for no updates but it’s been pretty hectic around here. We got a good December snow storm, furnace stopped working, no internet, Christmas, Christmas parties, New Year’s, power outage and….. Ich. Yup our tank broke out with Ich and it has devastated our saltwater tank. We believe the Ich came in on the Blue Hippo Tang. We ran the risk with not having a quarantine tank. Because we have corals and invertebrates in the tank we cannot use copper based medications the most effective way to treat Ich. We treated the tank with Revive but we still had losses. So far to date we have lost both clowns, Blue Hippo Tang, Yellowtail Damsel and the most devastating of all the losses is the Blue face Angel (Gary’s Christmas present). The fish surviving so far are the Lawnmower Blenny, Pink Spotted Goby and 3 Blue/Green Chromis.

On a brighter note our True Rose Bubble Tip Anemone has split. There was a problem the baby looks like it got up to the power head and well got cut up. We found many pieces of the Anemone in the filter but many didn’t have a foot or a mouth but I did find one piece that had a foot and mouth but no tentacles. Anemone’s can re grow tentacles but in order to survive they do need a foot and mouth. The little baby is doing good! It is actually regrowing tentacles very fast and the ones it does have are starting to turn pinkish/red.

Well you know what Gary got/had for Christmas but what about me….. well I got what I wanted for Christmas lol I got a Neptune Systems Aqua Controller 3 and full version of Aqua Notes. I so love this thing. We have it hooked up and hooked up to the internet. Right now we are working to set up the web server. I have this crazy fear of electricity so unplugging and plugging things back in just freaks me out and I don’t enjoy it one bit so…. now to turn the skimmer and filter off during feeding I can just push buttons and bam shuts it off and then turns it back on in a hour for me. Another added benefit is the ability to remotely turn things on and off and keep an eye on it when we go on vacation. Right now we only have the temp probe but I plan on getting the PH probe to also monitor the tank. I also love the moon cycle on it which control the LED Moonlights. It also has a seasonal lighting and temperature schedule too but we don’t have the lights or heater on that. I need to go in and tinker with that because it would have the main lights on at like 7 in the morning and the tank would be dark in the afternoon/evening and we wouldn’t be able to enjoy the tank in the evening.

We did go to the PSAS Christmas Party and it was a blast. It was during the snow storm and so alot of people didn’t come but we braved the weather and decided to go. It was so cool to check out Vicki’s tanks and to see all of her baby clowns that she bred. Everyone who came had so much fun and Gary and I ended up getting a piece of the Monti Cap for the new program the PSAS launched at the party. We also got a Green Birdsnest during the White Elephant Gift Exchange. Both are doing great!

Well that’s it for now I will make sure to update better then I had been :)
